The problem of witcher is the way health regenerates so quickly out of battle this makes every battle feel the same because those encounters are all designed the same way, with full health in mind as soon as you enter in them they shoved the levels with battles that all feel the same, because every time you enter an encounter you enter it in the same situation every time at first the combat is extremely satisfying and good once you get the gist of it, but you quickly just end up using one sign every time because the others are just useless and makes the fights take more time potions are now just a way to have quick health regen while in a fight, and because they last minutes now instead of hours this means potions are just boosters to make the next fight easier in witcher you could drink a potion at any time, this means you could enter an encounter without having to meditate beforehand, and drink any potion that would be best suited for the encounter at hand you don t know what s coming up next as encounter so in witcher you can not improvise and you will most likely die because you were not prepared, this means the game is trial and error from the get go, you go into a battle without being able to use the adequate potion when every fight is pretty much the same, and happens the same way, there is no place for improvisation and surprises, because you re always full health there is no strategy and tactics involved, no surprises, and the issue of rolling arises rolling isn t the problem, the entire principle of encounters in this game is not good to begin with

I really like the responsives, but i dislke the automated block parry mechanics as well as the quen magic block thing. I dont get why this should improve the combat mechanics at all.

On a side note, if you apply this, you won t get any steam achievements until it s removed. Keep that in mind. I did fights in the arena using this made fights really easy since you only need to level up a skill once. The thing that sucks most is the fact that you don t move very far when dodging. For instance, when fighting the draug boss, yrden super roll to get behind him and take him out is easy but with this mod its difficult to get behind and plough the bastard

It still looks like a whole bunch of running around and rolling around just like the original combat system. I don t like how you have to constantly run away while fighting. I thought this mod was going to have lock on strafing. The combat in witcher is much better but the combat in witcher is still way better than the first game.

Id prefer it if humanoids excluding humanoid monsters of course didnt have tiered hp. Concerning the damage model id handle it somehow like this heavy swings should have a chance of x x being a number inside the parametres, to, of killing an unarmored opponent outright if not blocked, whilst hits with fast attacks should have a x chance of killing the same, otherwise it should just count as strafing cut. All not blocked attaacks should stagger the target. Strafing cuts shouldnt directly decrease hp, but rather apply bleeding damage represents bleeding, contusions etc. Bleeding damage should progress at a pace that doesnt kill until after at least minutes of battle. With decreasing hp both movement and reaction speed should slow proportionally, whilst the probability of successfully blocking decrease at the same pace. Each strafing cut should apply its own bleeding, with the damage simply adding up. It should therefore be possible to bleed an enemy to death. With this damage model armor gains importance. In my eyes armor should be tiered in three categories, fabric leather, chain hardened leather and plate heavy chain. Fabric only decreases bleeding damage, whilst chain both renders insta kills impossible and decreases bleeding damage for light attacks. It should also decrease heavy swing kill chance to x, but not its bleeding damage. Plate has all the benefits from chain, but it also negates all effects from fast attacks except for staggering, whilst also rendering insa kills impossible from all sword attacks. Bleeding damage from heavy attacks stays the same as with chain. For polearms, maces and axes, armor effectivenes decreases by a factor of one, f. E fabric becomes ineffective, chain has the effects of fabric and plate the effects of chain. But as these weapons are rather heavy or have shorter reach this somewhat compensates for that benefit. Bows and magic should have their own damage model respectively, but in the same spirit.

The skill that should make all potions have no negative effects doesn t work. How to fix it? Also i just noticed you can t finish poker quest in act. Last opponent after talking launches defeat dialogue. No way to play with him.

While this mod breaths new life into this game and it seems that witcher is building off this mods concept i don t understand why you re only showing the heavy attacks with the original combat? I mean. If you re trying to imply that it s slow to make a more dramatic point, simply doing a flurry of strikes with the rebalance says enough. Yet alone the more fluid movements responsive actions faster movements. The witcher needed this the most. While there is at least variance in the first games combat, it feels terribly stiff and looks very awkward at times. I know the modding seen did do some work with the first game but was there ever a release on par with this for the first games combat?

For anyone wondering. Yes it removes crafting diagrams for robust cloth, hardened leather and many more. So far ive found these vendors who sell it. Chapter one, the person in the main square with the shop that contains cloths and carpets and such items. Chapter two, only know the vergen one. To find her and an encounter. Leave the city through the maingate. Then after the walls end there is a small passage going left. Go in it and you ll see a red wagon, she s just m from that. She will reward you with an encounter like those in witcher but she should sell both robust cloth and hardened leather in such quantities you only need to visit her once. Will update for chapter.

This mod is utterly crapshit! I have only energy now and only mutagen slots! It wasted my character before the shaela dragon boss fight and has many other big big bugs! Advice do not install this bullshit! ! !
